From its establishment in August 1936, Cees Boerman owned and managed Boerman Transport (pictured left). In the early 1960s, Teus Boerman (pictured right) joined the company. In 1965, he became a co-founder and a year later, Boerman Beheer (Boerman Group) was officially established and Boerman Transport became its first operating company.

Under Teus, the company grew into a structured organisation. In 1995, with Conrad Boerman, the third generation came on board. For one year, three generations were employed simultaneously, grandfather Cees, father Teus and son Conrad.
During the 50th anniversary party in 1996, Cees Boerman officially bids farewell. Teus never officially joined or left the company. He is still involved in the group as a commissioner.
Conrad Boerman takes over his father's shares but leaves the company in 2011, leaving day-to-day management out of the Boerman family after 75 years.
