During the first 25 years of its existence, only open box trucks and trailers were offered. When the market began to demand trucks that could load and unload themselves, Boerman Transport responded by equipping its trucks with truck-mounted cranes.

Around 1960, the DAF with fleet number 18 became the company's first truck to be equipped with a Netam truck-mounted crane without extending parts. Shortly thereafter, the truck with fleet number 22 was fitted with a crane featuring an extendable mast capable of lifting 1500 kg.
The cranes from those days are vastly different from the modern truck-mounted cranes we know today. Gradually, the company evolved into the two core areas for which it is generally known: open transport with truck-mounted cranes and the transport of dry bulk goods.
