A maritime monument placed at its new permanent location on the Rivierdijk.

The monument is a counterweight block from one of the iconic cranes of the former repair yard De Merwede (now Neptunes).

The block became detached from the crane and fell down a long time ago. It then lay on the site for years until the current owner wanted to get rid of it.

The Dorpsbehoud Hardinxveld-Giessendam Foundation saved the counterweight block from demolition and secured a new destination for it.
